Marion Faust (Chair)
As Governor and later Chair of Governors at Brampton Manor School (and now Chair of the Board of Directors of Brampton Manor Trust), Marion’s total and unwavering commitment to the school spans almost three decades! Her children attended the school and since then, Marion has given of her time very generously and has been a strong advocate for the young people. She believes firmly that all children can achieve regardless of their socio-economic background. As a result, she has presided over our rapid and sustained improvement, making us the best school in Newham and one of the highest performing schools in the country. Marion has been at the forefront of championing and helping to foster links between business and education in Newham for over two decades. She is an ardent believer in the role that businesses can play in the wider curriculum and in helping young people to gain worthwhile life and employability skills. In this regard, she has helped to recruit leaders of successful businesses to join the governing bodies of local skills, provide work experience/placements for young people and to ensure that the in the rapidly growing finance and business economy in East London, local children and young people are well positioned to secure those jobs.
Laura King (Chair of FPS & Audit Committee)
Laura joined the Trust’s Board of Director’s in 2014, bringing a wealth of Legal, HR and finance experience.
Laura is Partner, Global Head of People and Talent at Clifford Chance, responsible for the firm’s people strategy and global human resources functions. She is currently the chair of the Finance, Staffing, Premises & Audit Committee.
IAN PORTER (DIRECTOR)
Ian Porter is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is currently the chief executive of 15billion-ebp, an organization involved in delivering quality work and career related programmes for schools, employers and young people. Ian brings with him, a considerable wealth of experience in the public and private sectors and joined the board of Brampton Manor Trust in January 2017.
JULIA HODGSON (DIRECTOR)
Julia is a qualified chartered accountant and auditor, trained by Deloitte. Julia has extensive experience working in financial services and is currently a senior analyst with the Bank of England, leading the organisation’s work on structural reform. Julia is also a trustee for the Combined Cadet Force Association. Julia joined the board of directors in April 2017.
Mohammed Rahman (Director)
Mohammed was a staff governor of Brampton Manor School and remained on the governing body of the school after its conversion to academy status in April 2011. He is a member of Brampton Manor Trust as well as a Director of the Trust.
RAKHEE Verma (Director)
Rakhee Verma is an independent consultant and interim director. She brings broad commercial experience from working with some of the world’s biggest brands, to organisations that may not always have access to this level of expertise.
Rakhee has worked across a number of sectors – private, public and third – ranging from professional services to creative businesses. Her expertise lies in leading and developing sales and marketing functions, capability and skills, working mainly with clients on growth.
Other business ventures include being the CEO of a tech start-up.
Rakhee also runs a private network for female entrepreneurs and businesswomen, and is a volunteer business mentor for City University, London, and The Prince’s Trust. She is also an executive coach and a Justice of the Peace.
Dr Dayo Olukoshi, OBE (Executive Principal)
Dr Olukoshi was the headteacher of Brampton Manor School until April 2011, when it converted to Academy status and was appointed the Principal of Brampton Manor Academy. The school has enjoyed tremendous growth and success under his leadership and in 2012, Ofsted rated the school as outstanding in all categories. Brampton Manor Academy was invited by the DfE to sponsor another local school, (Langdon School) and in January 2014, Brampton Manor multi-academy trust was formed, with Langdon Academy as an integral member of the family. In the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Dr Olukoshi was awarded an OBE for services to Education.
